TAKE THE PAIN OUT OF PAINT!

I want to share with you some of my favorite paint colors
that may help you take the "pain" out of picking paint colors for your walls.

As a designer, one of my favorite things is picking paint color for a room!
I can't help myself sometimes when I walk into a room,
my mind spins to figure out the perfect color for that space.
Might sound crazy to some people, but to me it's an intuitive thing and I love it!

If you know me as a designer, you may know that I like to push the limits of design
by thinking outside of the box, especially when it comes to color.
I love and appreciate subtle, earthy colors as well.

Posted below are some of my favorite subtle paint colors.
I have used these color many times in different rooms, for my clients.
These colors never fail me.  They work perfectly every time.

I'm also sharing with you some of my favorite things that inspire the color choices I have chosen.

These are paint swatches showing some of my favorite wall colors.

These Aqua Terra Jasper beads look like little planets, so full of amazing subtle colors.

SW 6355 - Truepenny

I love the soft brown color of this smoky quartz.

SW6119 - Antique White
This is a great trim color if you're looking for white with a touch of warmth.

I'm loving the combination of this light canvas tote, with the darker warm color strap,
and a hint of earthy green.

SW6136 - Harmonic Tan

The color combination of this meditation pillow makes me crazy... in a good way :)

SW7025 - Backdrop

Grey is the new tan!
The varying grey colors in this geode is amazing!

SW6478 - Watery

Notice the incredible blues and greens in this dragonfly!

SW6480 - Lagoon

The Seafoam green of this ring with the soft gold is a perfect combination of color.

SW6401 - Independent Gold
Beautiful rich golden color!

Loving the grey, tan, and teal colors in this cute handmade bear doll.

The beautiful, warm grey and tans in this wood flooring is so inspiring.

I'm just amazed by all the different colors in these succulents.
One of my favorite plants!

Are you looking to update a room in your house or business?
I hope I've inspired you to move ahead.
Hopefully some of these paint colors made it a little bit easier for you to choose a color.

If you find picking paint for your room is too challenging,
remember you can always hire an interior decorator to help you
pick the perfect color to enhance your room.

Stay happy!

BORING TO BOLD POWDER ROOM

If you know me, you know that I love color!

Contrasting color adds drama in a room.

This white powder room started with this Shag print for inspiration.

I knew that I wanted to go bold!

I highlighted the shape of this small powder room by bringing the bright paint up the back wall onto the ceiling and back down the mirrored wall.

I replaced the existing light and mirror.

Painting this ornate mirror a teal blue color took it to a level of whimsy.

This room was a blank canvas.

Changing the light to an unexpected chandelier just adds to the drama.

A final touch was adding my sweet girly fish.
 She's one of my favorites.

Think about adding color and fun to your home.
You can start small with the powder room.
Add favorite items that make you smile.
It's also a nice surprise for your guests.

Here's to your happy home!

CUSTOM PILLOWS

The first decision to be made when creating custom pillows is picking out the perfect fabric!
Here's a beautiful stripe from Clarke & Clarke.

I placed an order for one yard of fabric, and had it delivered to my door.

I had to inspect it to make sure it was exactly what I ordered.

Next option is to pick a coordinating trim.
I chose a black cord for these particular pillows.

There are many, many options out there.
Your choices range from a self-cord, to decorative cords of all colors and sizes, to beaded trim,
fringe, pom-poms, tassels, and more.
Your designer will help you select the best option for you.

 Here's a close-up of this beautiful fabric.

When choosing fabrics you need to consider color, pattern, and texture.
There are thousands to choose from.

I only use top professional seamstresses whose craftsmanship is impeccable.

I just love the final results!
The stripes give me the option to place them horizontal or vertical.

They are the perfect compliment to my existing store-bought pillows.
Mixing and matching store-bought and custom is a more economical option than going totally custom.

Juxtaposing the stripes with the geometric patterns might seem to clash initially,
but the colors make them coordinate nicely in place.

If you want a unique look for your home... go custom!

Here's to your happy home!
